Siraj resigns from NWFP ministries

PESHAWAR: NWFP Senior Minister Sirajul Haq announced on Monday that he was resigning from the three ministerial positions he held to protest against the attack on a madrassa in Bajaur. Addressing reporters, Haq claimed that US forces had carried out the attack, but even if the Pakistan Army had attacked the madrassa, the government is answerable to its citizens for aggression against innocent people. Besides being a senior minister, Haq also held the portfolios of finance and planning and development in the NWFP government. Haq also announced a province-wide protest on Tuesday (today) to protest against the incident. staff report
